We even have our own Micro Brewery(Unsworth’s Yard)whichincludes the Wine Snug andOscars Tapas Bar,an artisan bakery and Cartmel Cheeses. At the Cartmel Village shop (original home of Sticky Toffee Pudding) there is a great selection within their delicatessen for a self-catering holiday.Just come and visit, you will understand why people say it is the best village ever

Just come and visit, you will understand why people say it is the best village ever.

    The Cavendish Arms
A 450-year-old coaching inn. It is one of the oldest buildings in Cartmel and is situated within the old village walls. You can still see the old mounting block dated 1837 outside the main door. Its age can be sometimes measured (painfully)by the low beams. The inn consists of a main bar with welcoming antique furnishings and an open log fire.

    Cartmel Coffee
Cartmel's coffee shopoffersa large range of speciality teas & coffees, as well as homemade sandwiches and naughty treats. They also offer hot snacks anda selection of cakes. Go on, spoil yourself!

    The Kings Arms
The Kings Arms bar and restaurant is situated in the centre of historic Cartmel, near Grange-over-Sands.

An eighteenth century Coaching Inn, the recently-refurbished Kings Arms overlooks the tranquil River Eea and is near the beautiful twelfth century Cartmel Priory.

    Cartmel Village Shop
One of the largest and best known producers of sticky toffee pudding is located in the village of Cartmel in Cumbria (Cartmel is also located in the traditional area known as "Lancashire Over The Sands"), called Cartmel Village Shop. 2,000 sticky toffee puddings are made there each week.

    L'Enclume
L'Enclume's idyllic riverside location in the historic village of Cartmel, is the perfect location for Simon Rogan's cooking. In the dining room you can feel the roughness of the buildings original purpose, now married to its new contemporary direction. A relaxed and cosy environment where you can sample some of the very best the English lake district has to offer.

    Cartmel Racecourse

Cartmel Racecourse is a small racecourse in the village of Cartmel. Seven racedays are held each year, starting on the Whit Holiday weekend at the end of May and ending on the August Bank Holiday weekend in August Bank Holidays.

The three-day May racemeeting actually takes place over five days – allowing a day off for racegoers to enjoy the Lake District countryside in between each day at the races. The racegoers arrive so early in the day and leave so late that, unlike most racecourses, there isn't time to clear up and turn the racecourse around for consecutive days racing.

The two-day July meeting (taking place over three days, with a day off in-between) is a relatively new addition to the calendar and features the most valuable race at Cartmel – the Cumbria Crystal Hurdle Race, which is worth over £25,000.

The August racemeeting features the Cartmel Cup (a hurdle race) and the Cavendish Cup (a steeplechase).
